Flower Mound

The incorporated town of Flower Mound is located in the state of Texas, in Denton and Tarrant counties. It lies northwest of Fort Worth and northeast of Dallas. The town is adjacent to Grapevine Lake and is northwest of downtown Dallas. The town gets its name from the 12.5-acre mound in the center. However, there is more to Flower MOund than meets the eye. The city of Flower Mound is home to several parks and scenic trails. The Cross Timbers Gazette published articles on these subjects between 2008 and 2013, and the Flower-Mound Leader published articles on 2012-03-21 and 2012-06-20. The Grapevine Vintage Railroad, a historical train that runs through the town, provides a great way to enjoy the area’s beauty and culture. In addition to its great location, Flower Mound is also located within the Dallas-Fort Worth Metroplex. The region has a high percentage of tornadoes compared to the rest of the U.S. and the state average. During a category F4 tornado that occurred in 1994 in Flower Mound, three people were killed and 48 were injured. The area was hit with fifty to five hundred million dollars in damages. Similarly, a category F3 tornado ripped through the city in 1957, killing ten people and injuring 200.
