Grapevine

Grapevine is a historic city located in Texas. It is known for its reconstructed historic buildings and is a charming destination for those who want to see a restored Victorian mansion. There are plenty of dining options, art galleries, and shops along Main Street. If you’re interested in learning more about the history of the city, check out the Cotton Belt Railroad District. There are dozens of shops and restaurants in this area, including a blacksmith and bronze foundry. 

The first settlers of Grapevine tended to be conservative, as the town is located in a conservative part of Northeast Tarrant County. When the city first incorporated, it had an alderman form of government, but it changed to a council-manager system in 1965. The city was incorporated in 1912. It was founded in 1857. Initially, it was governed by a town marshal. It was not until 1956 that the position of chief of police was created. The first chief of police in Grapevine was John Baze. The Grapevine police department was a four-man operation, and today it shares space with the fire department.
