Grapevine is a historic city located in Texas. It is known for its reconstructed historic buildings and is a charming destination for those who want to see a restored Victorian mansion. The first settlers of Grapevine tended to be conservative, as the town is located in a conservative part of Northeast Tarrant County. The city was incorporated in 1912. It was founded in 1857. Initially, it was governed by a town marshal. It was not until 1956 that the position of chief of police was created. The first chief of police in Grapevine was John Baze. The Grapevine police department was a four-man operation, and today it shares space with the fire department.
