The city of Carrollton, Texas is located in Denton, Collin and Dallas counties. Its population is approximately 119,087. It is the 23rd-most populous city in Texas. Its main economic activity is retail. The population is highly concentrated in the financial district and medical community. A city that is surrounded by other communities, Carrollton has an excellent school system. The town was named one of the “Top 100 Places to Live” by Relocate America and Money magazine. In addition, it has been recognized as the 19th best place to live in the U.S. and 15th in the country for small cities. The city is located in Northwest Dallas County and includes portions of the following counties: Addison, Coppell and Farmers Branch.

The first settlers in the area were Jared Ford and William and Mary Larner. Then, the A. W. Perry family settled in the town of Trinity Mills in 1844. In the late 1800s, the city supported the dairy industry and the gravel industry. In the late 1940s, Carrollton was a gravel and grain town that supplied brick to Dallas. During the post-war period, the city was working to attract major industries. During this period, National Metal Products and Clemens Manufacturing established their plant.
