Carrollton was named after a town in Illinois that was established in 1846. In 1846, a Baptist church was established in the town. In 1878, a post office was granted. The area became a railroad crossroads, with Jay Gould selling the extended line to MKT in the 1880s. The population of Carrollton was around 150 by the mid-1880s. A train began coming to this area in 1888, making Carrollton an important railroad hub.

In the early days, the area was a primarily agricultural community. With the construction of railroads, the town began to become an important shipping center for grain, cotton, and livestock. However, the community’s name was soon changed to reflect the town’s status as an urban center. As the city’s population increased, the population began to grow, and the town became known as Carrollton. By the 1960s, the city was thriving and had a high population density. Next blog post
